She is the first in France to have applied design thinking to the field of both organisation and management. After more than 10 years in the banking sector, mainly as an internal auditor, Aurélie studied creativity and design thinking and subsequently founded her consultancy dedicated to collaborative and creative change management. am - designthinking’s mission is to support companies, administrations and other organisations (such as schools) in their goal of reconciling quality of life and efficiency. It operates on 5 key levels: strategy, organization, management practices, tools and the workspace. The consultancy designs and facilitates collaborative solution finding workshops. It also pilots large projects such as improving the efficiency of a 400 strong work force spread out in different international locations (Orange) or the invention of new usages at work and training as well as the development of workspaces (CNFPT). Aurelie Marchal is a published author. In July 2013 she published two books: "Design Thinking and Creative Problem Solving: Comparative analysis of two participatory methods of innovation and solutions focused research " and" Organizational innovation and managerial transformation through design thinking,“. Both are available on amazon.com (in french). am - designthinking also operates with prospective/trend forecasting groups: "How to train the managers of tomorrow?" CNFPT and "The transformation of organizations by open innovation fablabs" by Conseil et recherche. Aurélie Marchal publishes articles and teaches at ESSEC School, at the Toulouse Business School and at ESC Troyes. She acts as a lecturer for the Chair of change management at the ESSEC School. She promotes on a daily basis the huge added value of design, design thinking and designers.
